Tammy is a pretty petite gal with an unusual almost black face for her brindle coloring.  She has a star-studded pedigree and actually didn’t do that bad in her own relatively short career on the track, claiming a winning purse about 50% of the time.  But it seems she was always on the hauler – first racing at Bluffs Run, then Dubuque, then Sarasota, then Palm Beach. She ended up in Jacksonville and is now, hopefully, at her last stop here in Atlanta.  Tammy is a quiet girl and a “clinger”; she loves to hang by your side and lean on you.

HitMan is a strikingly handsome red and white boy who, just like a real “hitman”, came out of nowhere with no history, no records, no background – and even wearing a “mask” (note the unusual black markings over  his eyes)!  We don’t even know his official name. But he’s curious and sociable and definitely a good applicant for a forever home.

Satin is a big, broad male with pretty tipped ears.  Apparently, he didn’t get much of his father’s winning genes, as his success at racing was almost nil. And moving him from track to track (Palm Beach to Naples/Fort Myers and then Jacksonville) didn’t help.  In every race he went to the outside and made wide turns, losing too much time to ever come close to winning.  But who cares now.  He is good looking, friendly and well behaved and will no doubt find someone to love him for his good doggy traits.

Starburst is a very pretty, very friendly young gal who was on her way to a successful racing career until a broken leg put her into rehab.  But now she’s back as good as new.  She knows her name and runs up to lean on you. 

This cute little girl just ran her heart out for the past year and a half.  And she did real well, ending up in the money more times than not.  But someone must have felt she’d earned her retirement, so now she’s here in Hot-lanta hoping there’s a soft fluffy bed and a squeaky toy in her future.

Sherry is cute as a button and has the most endearing personality.  She is quite demanding of attention and loves to climb into your lap at every opportunity.  She is also exceptionally intelligent and active. As a result, she needs a “job” to keep her from getting into mischief. (She would probably do well in obedience or agility training.) And she definitely needs a household where there are other dogs (preferably Greyhounds) for her to play with.

LK’s Tracattack, better known as “Tex”, is a good-looking, good-sized fawn boy who did his early racing at the Bluff Run track in Iowa before coming to Jacksonville. Thus, we don’t know a whole lot about his background. However, we have found him to be an endearing fellow who is very affectionate and attention-seeking.  He loves to lean on whomever he can con into petting him.

This good-looking sleek shiny boy is an active and curious guy. He is a good-sized fellow who ran hundreds of races, keeping his owner and trainers happy.  But time marches on, so now he is ready for his own forever home. He is very friendly and attention-seeking and needs someone who can spend a lot of time with him.  

Dice is a very sweet petite black girl.  Quiet but friendly, she is the product of a top-racing dad and a mom born in Ireland.  Despite being moved from track to track, Dice did quite well in her racing career, even earning performance points. But time marches on, and now she’s ready to “unpack her suitcase” and settle in a permanent home.

Mercy just wants to be loved.  She is quiet and a bit hesitant, but she comes to her name and wants to cling to you.  A pretty little thing, with a tiny patch of white hair on the middle of her nose, Mercy was not cut out to be a racer. She just couldn’t win a race.  So, here she is, not yet 2 years old and already “retired”, looking to begin a new career as a loving family member.

Polly is a perky, friendly gal with a very pretty dark, dark brindle coat.  She is a tiny thing but that doesn’t stop her from grabbing her share of attention. She is quiet and well behaved and eager to make someone a cuddly companion.

What a gorgeous girl Bella is!  Coming from the Mobile, Alabama, track, her background is a bit of a mystery.  On arrival she was at first fairly shy and skittish. However, in just a couple days she has become quite the affectionately demonstrative young lady.

"Freak N Apache” is exactly like his name sounds.  He is a very happy, excitable, high energy, “in your face” attention seeker.  He is big, lean, long-legged, and totally endearing from his white-tipped nose to his swooshy tail. He’s definitely out to find his forever home, and we guarantee it won’t take him long.

With a racing weight just shy of 80 pounds, Gable Ector is a big fellow.  He’s good-looking and jovial and has the cutest curliest tail. (It’s like a big question mark.) Despite the well-known names in his pedigree, he just didn’t care much for racing. He’d rather decorate someone’s couch.

Although he’s somewhat small for a male, Russ is an extremely handsome guy with that unusual silky, silvery-gray brindle coat prospective adopters are always asking us for.  Although he never went far as a racer, he can boast of two famous grandfathers.  Russ is friendly, relaxed, and a great kisser.

With both his dad AND his mom well-known racers, Scotty successfully spent a lot of time on the track himself.  But as often happens with those enthusiastic runners, an injury, regardless of how slight, brings their career to a screeching halt, and so it was with Scotty.  Now back in perfect health, he is a most attractive big red boy with a gorgeous face and a happy and determined personality fueled by curiosity.
