The weather is usually ideal at this time of the year, so mark your
calendars now and plan to attend. Since everyone is used to seeing AAGA
Greyhounds at these events and always looks for them, we like to have
a good "presence" throughout the entire two days. Therefore,
Carol Rodgers, AAGA's Event Coordinator, will be looking for volunteers
to sign up to "work" the schedule of 3-hour shifts (PH: 404-384-2987
/ EMAIL: carol@greyhounds2.org). We say "work", but it's not.
It's really fun meeting other Greyhound owners and talking to potential
adopters about why we love our "45 mph couch potatoes".
We especially urge our brand-new adopters (and we've added a lot of
them lately!) to come out and join us. Not only will your Greys enjoy
socializing with "old friends", but these events are great
opportunities for your whole family to interact with your newest member.
And, most rewarding to all of us at AAGA, it gives us a welcome chance
to visit with you again and see how well you are all adapting.

Realtor for Greyhounds - by Toni Kelly-Long
Dear Greyhound Friends,
I have been "Greyhound owned" for the last 12 years and
over these years I have been the proud "Mom" of Freddy,
Gene, Dancer, Pop, and currently Wally and May. I volunteer as much
time as I can to help out Carl and the Greyhounds whenever possible,
but it's always my goal to do more. For this reason, I have set up
my own fund-raising program connected to my career in real estate
called "REALTOR FOR GREYHOUNDS". My program
is as follows:
For each closed transaction that I receive from a Greyhound owner,
or anyone they refer to me including:
Listing of a current home for sale
Buyer's Agent with the purchase of a home
Referring to an out-of-town real estate broker
I will contribute 10% of my net commission (after tax) to Adopt A
Greyhound Atlanta. The contribution will be made in a lump sum, in
December of the same calendar year as the closing occurred. This
program will cost you nothing. You'll get the most
competitive rates, a Solid Source Realty top producer agent with 18
years experience in Atlanta, and the pleasure of knowing you're helping
the Greyhounds. With your business and referrals, this could easily
amount to an annual contribution of $5,000.00.
I have a great deal of experience listing homes as a representative
to Sellers and also as a Buyer's agent representing people buying
homes. I have been a licensed Realtor in Atlanta since 1989 with Prudential
Georgia Realtor for 9 years, RE/MAX Greater Atlanta for 8-1/2 years,
and I recently joined Solid Source Realty, the fastest growing real
estate company in Atlanta.
I look forward to doing business with you and anyone you refer to
this win/win/win program. Carl has worked very hard
for many years and deserves our support.
So, COME ON!!! Send me some business and let's help rescue more Greyhounds
and make Adopt A Greyhound Atlanta and Greys'land a place we can all
be proud of.
